Privacy notice

This notice explains what happens to your details when you sign up for email updates from Line Dance with Laura. We've kept it short and in plain English. If anything isn't clear, just ask.

Who we are

Line Dance with Laura is run by Laura, trading as Line Dance with Laura. Laura is responsible for your details (the "data controller"). You can contact her at hello@linedancewithlaura.co.uk.

What we collect

• Your email address.
• Your first name, if you choose to give it.
• Which emails you've chosen: all updates, or important notices only.
• A record of your consent: when and how you signed up, the wording you agreed to, and when you confirmed your email address.
• Delivery records for the emails we send you, such as whether an email was delivered or bounced.

Why we use it

We only use your details to send you the emails you asked for - for example, to let you know a class is cancelled or has moved, and (if you chose all updates) to tell you about class news and events. Our legal basis for this is your consent, which you give when you sign up and confirm your email address. You can withdraw it at any time.

Who helps us

We use two companies to run the website and send emails. They only act on our instructions:

• Cloudflare hosts this website and the database that holds the mailing list. Its Turnstile service protects the signup form from spam bots by checking your browser when you use the form. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• Amazon Web Services sends our emails, from its London region. See AWS's privacy notice.

We never sell your details or share them with anyone else. Our emails don't contain tracking pixels, and we don't track which links you click.

How long we keep it

• We keep your details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
• If you sign up but don't confirm your email address, we delete your details after 7 days.
• If you unsubscribe, we keep just your email address and the fact that you opted out, so we never email you by mistake. If you'd rather we erased that too, just ask.

Your rights

You can:

• ask for a copy of the details we hold about you;
• ask us to correct anything that's wrong;
• ask us to delete your details;
• withdraw your consent at any time - there's an unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email, or you can change what you get from the same link.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your details, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
